What is the D-node?
D-node, it is installed on optical node, integrated both common CATV optical receiver and CMTS based on DOCSIS technology. It is an integrated optical-electrical transformation equipment offer both CATV signal optical receiving and IP data transformation function. With both CATV optical port and IP optical port, it connects into HFC and IP backbone network as well as the coaxial distributive network. It works with both cable modem and Two-Way set-top box. It is quite easy to remote monitor and operates.


In fact, D-node is a full service optical node.


The D-node is very flexible to use and there is almost no transmission distance limitation. It could be connected to both Ethernet fiber trunk and EPON. It can be installed on both optical nodes and distributed at the apartment. You may choose either the optical port or electrical port. The D-node will offer full protection of your original investments.


The D-node could meet all requirements of the HFC bandwidth network, it support those service transferring such as analog TV, digital TV, interactive digital TV and broadband internet service. What’s more, It is tailor made for hotel, school, company, hospital and village broadband networking construction, too.


Standardized mature technology to avoid investment risk
Based on standardized technology, the D-node can make full use of your current transmission network and head-end equipment, it compatible with IP backbone, Ethernet and EPON, too. The CATV operator will never puzzle at what kinds of EOC non-standard technology they have to choose thereby protect the original resources to avoid investment risk.

Simplified networking structure to improve stability
The D-node moves the data and TV signals mixing point down to optical node which will greatly simplify network structure. There are also many other advantages such as:

Solved the problem between CMTS coverage efficiency and the funnel noise
Due to the expensive equipments of traditional DOCSIS solution, the CMTS is often deployed at the front end plant room.. The larger scale the CMTS covers, the much more efficient its coverage is , the lower cost it will take but, the funnel noise will be larger. It seems that is a certain conflict but the D-node could solve this conflict perfectly.


Advanced management system
With the assorted network management software, you can manage all D-node equipments intensively at the central plant room including the management for both equipments and end users.


Management for equipment: Monitor and control all parameters for its running status, working voltage, power level, temperature and resetting, remote configuration and amendment for the running mode and parameters as well as the fault alarming function.


Management for end user: Including user information, authority controlling, speed limitation settings and billing management, it can also monitor the cable modem running status and parameters.


Alarming: Including alarming from both equipment error and its running status. There will be records on the network management software interface once it suffers any abnormal conditions from voltage, temperature and signal power level. It will also alarm once the cable modem running RF parameter is at the edge and the package loss rate increased rapidly

Internal TV optical receiving & amplifying processing, there are 2 RF out ports with respective amplified module.
